Homemade Beauty | Homemade Deep Conditioning Avocado Hair Mask

If you are looking for a cheap, but in the meantime - effective deep conditioning treatment then keep on reading!

This mask is perfect for dry, brittle, even chemically treated hair or if you just want to add some moisture to your hair during the cold seasons. Most of the ingredients you probably already have in your kitchen. So grab a pen and paper and write down what you will need as well as the few easy steps of making your own avocado mask. It's fun and it's free (very corny I know but so true ^_^)!

Avocados are rich in Vitamin A, Vitamin K, fibers, Vitamin B6, Vitamin C, copper and potassium. Avocados are also rich in fatty acids that are a real must in your daily diet, especially when it comes to your hair. They help with hair growth and leave it shiny and soft. The avocado hair mask will help strengthen and fortify your hair.

I found this image on-line and i believe it will come in handy when choosing the perfect fruit for your mask!

Now, depending on your hair length you may use just one half of a ripe avocado, but since i have a lot of hair i used the whole fruit. Don't worry about the brown parts, you won't be eating it so it is safe for use!

Start mashing up the avocado. I suggest you do it one half at a time.

I added 2 tablespoons of olive oil and 3 tablespoons of pure honey and one tablespoon of castor oil to promote hair growth (not pictured).
You can also add yogurt, jojoba oil, almond oil, wheat germ oil...

Add your ingredients to the mashed avocado and continue mixing...

Almost done...

At the end the mask should look something like this (looks a bit gross but that's not he point lol)

Start applying it from the roots and focus mainly on your ends. Put a plastic cap on and leave the mask for about 20/30 min. Then wash and shampoo as normal! Your hair should feel soft and moisturized. You can do this every week, but I prefer to "spice up" my routine and do this once or twice a month.
Hope you liked the post and found it helpful!
